Police Intervention at Golden Gardens
Enthusiasts waited in long lines to get into Stance War's Golden Gardens Meet in Seattle the same as every year only to discover that Seattle PD was in the process of cancelling the event. Mere minutes after arrival, the police have blocked off the parking lot entrance and started evicting attendees and vendors alike.
Although the meet was cancelled, there were many attempts to regroup, mainly at a diner in Edmonds to combine with another gathering and Alki Beach in West Seattle. Despite the very short time the attendees gathered and the heavy rain, there were many stunning cars that showed up.
Scatters of cars from Golden Gardens were spotted along the long stretch of Alki Beach in an attempt to locate one another. This pair of S13s along with a handful of others found their way to the east side of the stretch.
Props to this guy, the meter maid was mere seconds from writing him a ticket but it appears that he was able to talk his way out.
Due to the short amount of time the event was live, I was not able to take as many pictures I would like. I appreciate the dedication of the car enthusiasts to show up in the Seattle rain and attempt to regroup after the intervention. The cars of the northwest are still great as always and the organizers still hosted a crazy event. We regret what has occurred and wish Stance Wars a successful automotive party in July. I look forward to the party and the next meet the following year.
Until next time,
