One Night in Portland
In the day, the area surrounding 2nd avenue is filled with forklifts and union workers loading and unloading freight into the rundown, yet OSHA-compliant warehouses.
But this is Sunday. And it’s 6 o’clock. The back-up beeps of trucks have long ceased and the air is filled with enthusiasm and exhausts.
This is Portland’s weekly Red Door Meet. And the streets are crammed with people checking out the artwork parked in front of warehouse docks, dumpsters, under bridges, and across many blocks.
It draws a huge crowd, and so it should. It’s not every day where a Toyota Soarer, R32 Skyline, a Gallardo, and a Baja Ranger shares the same meet.
The car is a huge draw but the lively atmosphere and the social aspect has taken up its own life.
And that’s what Red Door has become. It’s more than just cars. It’s a social gathering. People come here to check out other people’s passion and artwork and to chat and chill. There’s even a food truck. What’s more, there’s even a dyno.
There is a scene in the movie “Fast and Furious One” before Paul Walker drives his Eclipse so fast that his floor board fell, drivers all gather on a deserted street. People were chilling and checking out each other’s cars. This is the atmosphere of RDM.
The crew of PanthyHeist is all too familiar with the weekly event. But even when we frequent it so much, we’re still amazed by everything that is happening. This has become more than just a weekly car meet. This is a social gathering. This is where you come to hang out with your friends to chat with really cool strangers. This is where even unsuspecting passersby take notice and gawk around. And mostly, this is Portland’s nightlife.

Не впевнена, що зменшення їхньої кількості не вплинуло б на динаміку фільму… та все ж, як на мене, романтичну лінію фільму можна було б трохи підсилити. Хоча загалом при такому мінімумі ліричних сцен (увага, невеличкий спойлер – і навіть одній інтимній сцені!) почуття героїв та їхні стосунки передані зрозуміло і щиро. Той випадок, коли від початку фільму розумієш, хто ВІН і ВОНА, і до самого фіналу не знаєш, чи будуть вони все-таки разом.
Він був запрошений стояти шановним стовпом посеред декорацій села, демонструвати потрібні емоції та ставати в потрібні пози. Головну роль Захара Беркута виконав Роберт Патрік. Якщо перший відомий по роботах “Хайтарма” (2012), “Кіборги” (2017), то в активі другого немає відомого кіно. квадратних метрів штучних скель з’явилися на Троєщині. Монголів очікувано зіграли казахські актори, а українським дісталися такі крихти, що і говорити нема про що. Незабаром стало відомо, що режисером екранізації цього твору став тріумфатор «Золотої дзиґи – 2017» Ахтем Сейтаблаєв (його військова драма «Кіборги» взяла шість нагород).
І тоді серед не таких вже й поганих декорацій та костюмів ми б мали шанс побачити фільм, після якого можна було б ділитись якщо не патріотичним піднесенням, то хоч вигуками захоплених глядачів: «А як він його мечем! А ти бачив як він на коня заскочив?!» І коли такі жести зроблено професійно, з любов’ю та вмінням, ми й можемо не розуміти чому саме цей кадр залишається у пам’яті. Кадр з фільму “Захар Беркут” Над фільмом працювали українська кінокомпнія Kinorob та американська компанія CinemaDay. Вони, звісно, красунчики і грають пофесійно, але надто вже універсально. Автори сценарію: Ярослав Войцешек, Річард Ронат Ронат за мотивами повісті Івана Франка «Захар Беркут». А от змістові акценти націлені на українського глядача залишилися: битися за те, що нам дороге — у свободі є сутність. Перед показом режисер фільму Ахтем Сеітаблаєв розповів, що голівудські актори ніяк не могли зрозуміти, чому увесь реквізит – натуральний, із дерева. Було б непогано перемагати у боротьбі за свободу! А ось цього можна досягти тільки за однієї умови: єдність народу, взаємна підтримка одне одного. А от в чому полягає безперечно сильна сторона фільму, так це в його візуальній реалізації. Захар Беркут та усе його село, щоправда, не бажають ставати залежними, але оскільки монгольська орда вже неподалік (та щоб не бути підозрюваним у сепаратизмі) Беркут пропонує Вовку привести свої війська із Галичу та пліч-о-пліч стати проти загарбників.
Вдався і саундтрек – гарний мікс електронної та симфонічної музики. У Львові відбувся допрем’єрний показ «Захара Беркута». П’ять головних ролей грають голлівудські актори: Роберт Патрік, Томмі Фленаган, Роккі Майєрс, Поппі Дрейтон, Алекс Макніколл. Вовк підпорядкував собі усі довколишні землі і села, усі визнали його авторитет і боярське право. Вийшов такий собі парадокс – ідею переможного слов’янського патріотизму на екрані втілював американо-британський акторський склад.
У головній ролі зіграв голлівудський актор Роберт Патрік («Термінатор 2: Судний день»). У стрічці взяли участь актори з України, США, Великобританії, Казахстану та Монголії: Алекс МакНіколл, Томмі Фленаган, Поппі Дрейтон, Андрій Ісаєнко, Олег Волощенко, Цегмід Церенболд, Єржан Нуримбет, Аліна Коваленко, Рокі Майерс, Олівер Тревена, Аян Отепберген, Віктор Жданов та інші.
